Army Staff Sergeant James M. Christen, 29, of Loomis, CA, was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, HI. SSG Christen died in the Kunar Province of wounds sustained when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device.
Also killed was Army Sergeant Jacob Molina.
