Army First Lieutenant Sean R. Jacobs of Redding, CA, was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. 1LT Jacobs died July 26 in Khakrez, Afghanistan, of wounds caused by an improvised explosive device. Also killed was Army Sgt. John E. Hansen, 41, of Austin, Texas.
