Even One Life is Too Many

Things I am not good at: routinely washing my car, signing up for that last grad school class, getting 8 hours of sleep a night (not complaining), being true to my emotions.

It is the last one that has been my biggest struggle as of late. For years I have bottled up my emotions and not dealt with them, it had become a form of self-preservation. Thankfully through the patience of others, this is no longer my initial reaction. I now choose to try and talk things out via text, email, or verbally. Finding safety in conversation has not been a quick process and I am very thankful to those that have walked along side as I learned how this works.

This is something I wish I had learned to do years ago. This is something that I am very grateful to have found. This is something I wish everyone had.

Even one life is too many to lose.
While we should do this daily, I encourage you on the 22nd of every month to call and check your battle buddy. It takes just a moment. Military or not, we deserve to see each other tomorrow.
