After the longest day and a half of my life I landed at Reagen National Airport today!!!
I was welcomed home by the open arms of my amazing cousin Allison. Of course my luggage is still in Atlanta, but at least I made it home safe...

High Visibility
What is a PT Belt you might be asking (or not)...
It is a belt made of highly reflective material that is worn during hours of low visibility allowing vehicles and aircraft better visibility of the soldier. The Physical Training Belt is worn at all times with the Improved Physical Training Uniform and is worn with the ACUs at night and at times of low visibility.
The PT Belt has also become something of a joke amongst soldiers while deployed. Our ACUs are designed to help us blend-in to our environment reducing our risk of being seeing by our enemy. While deployed we find it pretty funny that we are to wear a highly reflective belt in a COMBAT environment.

Even we are having some fun with the PT Belt. We placed one of our staff on a litter and sort "packaged" her as she was going to be flying out via rotor wing. And we used PT Belts for safety...
PAI
Once (or maybe it is twice) a year the Army conducts a PAI. What does it stand for? I should know, but don't really care. What I do know is that I am required to show up with my ID Tags and my ID Card. It is an Army-wide personnel inventory making sure that we are all still accounted for. For this PAI we all had to check in

MCU/FST BBQ
As the 47th Combat Support Hospital prepares to head home, the 932nd Forward Surgical Team is just getting started. So tonight we partied together celebrating a beginning and an end. Burgers and Steaks for everyone plus plenty of joking around. While it was a little chilly, we had a good time.
