DUSTOFF Hoist Training
Our MEDEVAC team needs to maintain their hours on training on a whole heck of a lot of different capabilities. One of those is the hoist. They have a strict rule that an second medical provider must be on the aircraft for the training, which means I get to go play when they need hours. Much fun!

Training
Big Sarge was simply too big for the litter. He literally broke through it. Granted, it was a really old and weak litter, but still, hilarious!
While training together as a team for the first time, we took time to bring our EOD teammates in and work with them on their medical skill sets too.

It Wasn't Me
Really, it was not me driving. While scouting out a running course for a diagnostic PT test the van got stuck in some really soft mud. We tried to get some drivers to help us out but with no success. So we resorted to calling the Fire Department for a little assistance. Such a humbling afternoon

Mad Dash
It is just about time for another Army adventure. One last task is to hand over my property to my teammate at work. It has been a very, VERY busy last few days of getting everything squared away administratively. This unit activated just under 6 months ago and I am already turning it over for a work trip. Wishing I could be around for another 6 months at least but I am ready for this adventure.
One final late night. |

100,000 Miles
My recent acquisition of my new to me Jeep hit 100,000 miles today. Even the Army came out to celebrate the big day!

My Boy
This week I learned that long road trips with minimal stops can stress out my boy. Once in WA we stopped by the vet where he spent the night getting started on antibiotics and IV fluids. He was a trooper throughout. He was back to his carefree self a few hours after I picked him up.
The hardest part of the trip was leaving my boy with friends while I take on a slightly longer work trip. He is such an important constant for me and to be without him is going to be harder than I thought. This is the snapshot I took as I left him and got in to my truck to drive away. Yup, I was crying.

Gettin' A Little Mud On The Tires
I enjoy playing in the mud and I finally fixed my lights so I can brighten my way ahead. While playing in the mud, we might have disturbed the locals.

Playing on the Beach
While playing out on the beach we found some one's leftover bonfire and figured we should stop and put it out. Need a light? No problem. I have you covered!

Cleaning Up the Droppings
While hanging out at a friend's house, I generously donated my time to help pick up the apple and pear droppings and get them out in to the fields for the goats and deer to enjoy.

Much Travelling
There has been much travelling in recent weeks. For a while, every other week I was not at home and was somewhere else in the world. Yup, the world. It has been fun but exhausting. I am eager to be home for a few weeks before my next adventure.
