Air Force Staff Sergeant Richard A. Dickson, 24, of Rancho Cordova, CA, was assigned to 306th Intelligence Squadron, Beale Air Force Base, CA. Ssgt Dickson died in the crash of an MC-12 aircraft near Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. Also killed in the incident were Brandon L. Cyr, of Woodbridge, Va.; Captian Reid K. Nishizuka, of Kailua, Hawaii; and Staff Sergeant Daniel N. Fannin.
Army Specialist Delfin M. Santos, 24, of San Jose, CA, was assigned to 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armor Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA. SPC Santos died in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered in a car bombing in Zabul, Afghanistan. Also killed were SPC Wilbel A. Robles-Santa and SSG. Christopher M. Ward.
