Honoring the California Fallen

Army Specialist. Nicholas B. Burley, 22, of Red Bluff, CA, was assigned to 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA. SPC Burley died in Puli Alam, Afghanistan, of injuries caused by indirect fire.

Teaching is Far Less Stressful

I've decided that teaching days are almost like days off. While I still look adorable in the "outfit", there is so little stress. We can't kill the mannequin...it's already dead...

 

Medal of Honor

BREAKING NEWS: ‪USArmy‬ Staff Sgt. Ty M. Carter will receive the Medal of Honor on August 26, 2013 for his courageous actions while serving as a cavalry scout with Bravo Troop, 3rd Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, during combat operations in Kamdesh District, Nuristan Province, Afghanistan on October 3, 2009. Carter proved himself time and time again as he resupplied ammunition to fighting positions, provided first aid to a battle buddy, killed enemy troops, and valiantly risked his own life to save a fellow Soldier who was injured and pinned down by overwhelming enemy fire; these are actions of a resilient Soldier.

The Serious Side of Pilot

Nope, there is no serious side of Pilot! Who am I kidding?!?

 

Not only am I beyond grateful for her friendship, I am super lucky to get to call her home a second home for myself. It has become my escape from my Army life. I am one lucky kid!

ABQ Gate A4

Yup, I was still there today when I laneded! I was super stoked!!!

There was a nice family sitting on the bench and they graciously allowed me to snap a quick pic. They thought it was hilarious!

California - One

The first leg of my flight today was on California-One! And it is pretty safe to say that I "remained on" the plane hopefully all day. Yup, I stickered the armrest.
